Most products that touch the physical world need firmware, a backend, and an interface. I do all three, which is usually why people call.

I'm Moses Rodrigues, a developer in Goa, India. I started out with microcontrollers the kind of work where you lose an hour to a loose jumper wire and grew outward into the web and mobile apps that sit on top of them.

That overlap is the useful part. Plenty of people can build you a Next.js dashboard. Fewer can also pick the right sensor, write the ESP32 firmware feeding it, and take the blame when a number on screen looks wrong. On a connected-hardware project it means one person to talk to instead of two vendors pointing at each other.

Eleven projects have gone out this way groundwater monitoring for city planners, blood-bank coordination for hospitals, crop disease spotted from a phone camera plus five hackathon podium finishes, Smart India Hackathon among them. I'm in my final year of a B.E. in Electronics & Computer Engineering, and take client work alongside it.

The questions people actually ask

Mostly from clients weighing up whether to hire someone remote. Short answers, no sales language.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. I work remotely with clients in the US, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Canada, and across Europe. I'm in India Standard Time (UTC+5:30), which gives a solid morning overlap with Europe and the Gulf, and evening overlap with US East Coast. For US Pacific clients I schedule calls early in my morning and keep the rest async.

Where are you based?

Goa, India. I work fully remotely and have done so with teams in Noida and elsewhere. I can travel within India for hardware installs or on-site commissioning when a project needs it.

What kind of projects do you take on?

Four kinds: IoT and connected hardware (ESP32, ESP8266, Arduino, sensors, cloud dashboards), full-stack web apps (Next.js, React, TypeScript, Supabase), AI features inside existing products (LLM chat, image classification, OCR), and cross-platform mobile apps in React Native. Projects that mix hardware and software are the ones I most enjoy.

How do you price projects?

Three ways, depending on how well-defined the work is. A fixed price for a clearly scoped build, a monthly retainer for ongoing work, or an hourly rate for consulting and short fixes. I quote after a scoping conversation, never before — a number without a scope is a guess.

How long does a typical project take?

A focused web app or dashboard usually lands in two to five weeks. IoT builds run longer because hardware has to be sourced and tested — typically four to eight weeks. I give a specific timeline in the written scope, and you see working progress every week rather than waiting until the end.

Can you handle both the hardware and the software?

Yes, that's the point of hiring me specifically. I've built systems where I selected the sensors, wrote the ESP32 firmware, designed the database, built the Next.js dashboard, and deployed it — for example Smart Well Management and the Smart Waste Management system. You don't need a separate firmware contractor and web agency who blame each other.

Who owns the code?

You do. Code lives in your repository from the start, or gets transferred at handover, along with setup documentation and any credentials. No lock-in, no hosting you have to rent from me.

What are you working on right now?

I'm a Web Developer at All Right Systems, a US company, working remotely, and a Core Developer at EPICFORCE.AI. I take freelance projects alongside both. Earlier roles: AI intern at Lenovo, frontend developer at PTWO Technologies, and QA tester at BitMento. I'm in my final year of a B.E. in Electronics & Computer Engineering at Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Goa, graduating in 2027.
